I picked this up on a whim because I wanted to have something else to listen to and I really enjoyed it. I really loved the mystery that we were presented with. I saw a few things coming before they were revealed, I was wrong on one occasion
I thought Ernie would get together with Michael's ex-wife, but he did not.
I also did not see the plot twist coming. I like going into books like this knowing almost nothing about it because I like to try and see if I can figure out who the killer is before the book ends and this time I didn't know who it was going to be and I was genuinely shocked.

What an interesting mystery! I really enjoyed the unique style of this book. The narration is fresh and keeps you excited for the next chapter. I highly recommend this book if you like a good mystery that surrounds interesting and sympathetic characters.

To say I was engrossed is an understatement - the plot was beautifully written, and the writing cemented my thought, as I was not even halfway through, that this would immediately become a favourite of mine. The author has really mastered the act of “showing not telling”, which I also think works really well in a mystery, and the main character’s perspective of writing while reflecting on the events in hindsight was something I really enjoyed.
