I wanted to love the audio version of this book so, so badly. I am one of Gwenna's followers online so I wanted to listen to the book rather than read it. But I think it would have been beneficial to have a physical copy of the book in addition to listening to her discuss her (IMO very good) thoughts on response parenting. You are supposed to get PDFs included with the audio version, unfortunately, through my Libby I didn't get those, so for some very important chapters I was totally lost. Because this wasn't Gwenna's fault (she'd included the material in the audio version and I hadn't given over the cash to get it) I didn't fault it on her part. I misused the star because I really felt the need for a physical copy in the audio. I think even with the pdfs I'd want it. So, guess I'm buying myself a copy. Thanks for making a damn good parenting book.

This is a great listen and an easy read, while also being super informative, helpful, and challenging. Gwenna talks like your face timing with your friend whose parenting advice you really trust. it's a must read for millennial parents trying to break the cycles, or anyone curious or confused about responsive parenting (aka gentle parenting). It's not for you if you don't like sarcasm or millennial jokes, or if you're offended by cuss words. I'll be recommending to all my mom friends.

I like Gwenna's content when I see it online but this didn't resonate with me. I might come back to it when I'm closer to having children of my own. I also get annoyed at TikTok words like "unalived" being used in published materials even if they're used in a half-jokey way. It's a book, no one will shadowban you!
