Umm, Mr. Martin? I know you're brilliant and all, but I don't really like most of the characters who's perspectives this book was told from. I know you wrote an apology at the end for that, and I know I don't really have the right to complain, since I get to read "A Dance With Dragons" right away and don't have to wait 5 years like your other fans did, but still... After the incredible excitement of "Storm of Swords," it felt like NOTHING happened in this book in comparison. I'm going to try and wait another month until I read "Dance with Dragons" because I have a lot of traveling to do in December, but I can't imagine having to wait 5 years like most fans did.

not one of my favourites up to now, hence why it took so long for me to read it. I found myself distracted by other books while I was reading this. Sometimes I had to force myself to sit down and read which is something I don't normally have to do or even choose to do. I continued reading because the television series were so good and people have argued that things are different in the books. Being the nosey creature that I am, I wanted to find out how and what was different.

I think this one, in particular, wasn't of my taste because it didn't have a lot of my favorite characters. It had some, and I do like all the characters in their own way, but I also like things to be varied. The author has mentioned the other book will involve the other characters more and mix it up at the end as thing head back into its usual chronology, so I will try and let it slide.

I can't quiet put my finger on why I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. I'm putting it down to the lack of varying characters and the politics. I know it is necessary but I can only handle so much. But that is just my personal preference.
