I really liked this book and because I am updating my read books so late, I can't give it the raving review it deserves. However, I can say that Ari is a great main character. Throughout the book you see her development and can truly feel her emotions. Ally Shields' writing style started off the story slow, but once I got into it around chapter 3 or 4, I couldn't put the book down.. I couldn't put the series down.

In this book you get an entire world of what it would be like if supernatural creatures coexisted with humans. They have to work together to not only in every day life, but in the government and other official business. This is where we meet Ari and her partner Ryan, non-human and human; they are friends and partners. She has a best friend who is human. She has a mentor who is not. So the list continues.

And the conflict in just as interesting as the relationships. Who is behind the drug? Is it the werewolves? If so what is their motive, or is there something more nefarious going on. And of course what are the vampire's involvement?
