Sigh. This book. It could have been good but it just tried to do way too much. It was so contrived. And slow. And sooooo long. I love a twisty book but when I'm rolling my eyes because the author is making the story bend more than a yoga class it is just trying too hard. I just wanted it to be over. And in the end, it was all so obvious and not shocking at all.

You guys, I thought this was gonna be a domestic suspense thriller, but instead it was more of a domestic rip-your-heart-out-and-make-you-cry kind of mystery.

So, not quite what I was looking for, but well done and with some unexpected twists.

There was a lot of fluff. I found myself skipping through waiting for it to pick up. It finally did slightly but not enough for me to thoroughly enjoy it

Good, but nothing to write home about. This story from multiple narratives slowly paints a complex web of history and regrets. I enjoyed the plot twists and narrative style, but the emotions felt a bit campy and the marriage between Leo and Emma felt too distant for me to really buy into. I found Emma to be quite annoying at times. Essentially, I enjoyed the read, but I probably won’t remember it in a few weeks time.
