I enjoyed this deep dive into one of my favorite movies and fabulous interviews with the cast and crew. Marie's narration is incredibly well done.

I knocked this out in two sittings. If you are very familiar with Clueless, then this book will be very interesting. I'm not usually a fan of the oral-history format, but Chaney organizes this nicely, with chapter segues and fun little inserts about the casting, production and lasting effect of this iconic film.

I wish we'd heard a little more from some of the players (my life always needs more Alicia Silverstone, always!) and the background of key scenes could have included even more scenes. I guess I'm saying that this is only a four-star rating because it wasn't longer :-)

Highly recommend for any superfan of the movie.

Jen Chaney interviewed most of the cast and crew to write this book, and it was really interesting to hear different perspectives on the same event, and all the background on the production. She also discusses the effect Clueless had on the careers of the actors and culture as a whole. I enjoyed the audio, but would have loved it if every person interviewed had recorded their voice. The narrator does a nice job, but something like this would be awesome full cast.

I started 6th grade the summer after Clueless came out, and I remember there was a very dog-eared copy of the novelization of Clueless that was passed around among all the girls in the 6th grade at Mosby Woods Elementary. We LOVED this movie SO MUCH, and all memorized the glossary in the back of the novelization of all the slang terms from Clueless. I feel like this book is the 20 years later edition of that -- women my age are going to love this book because they love this movie.

Chaney talked to just about everyone who was involved with the film, and the book is chock full of great trivia, from who auditioned for certain roles, to what was ad-libbed, to what kind of movie magic happened to make this movie come together. It's a real delight from start to finish. And now I'm going to pop in my DVD of Clueless because HOW COULD YOU NOT.

(Also, lots of Paul Rudd love, and who wouldn't want that?)

I would have liked it a lot more if it wasn't an oral history. It was just a tad bit too repetitive in that format.

Saw this was available on the library website and nostalgia got the best of me... It held my interest well enough and now I feel like I need to re-watch the movie (it's been years since I've seen it).
