This was an emotionally heavy read. But I could not put it down. The characters and story were so beautifully written, and so rich in feeling, that I felt like I was part of the story. The narration was just perfect. Kristen Hannah does not disappoint, even in these heart-renching tales. Definitely recommend, just know that it is not easy. Forgiveness is a difficult journey, but of so worth it.

once again, kristin hannah has ripped my heart into tiny pieces, stomped on it a million times, and somehow put it back together in 400 pages

This book hit me at the right time in my life. I started reading it and it was slow and meh I almost DNFd. Then my 20 year old step daughter passed away, who I had been mom to half her life, and was half of a set of boy girl twins, and I was laying in bed reading trying to dull the numb and this books tragedy happened. Then I really almost DNfd.

I'm glad I didn't. I needed this book. This peace. The healing it brought me. It's not Kirstin Hannah's best. But it came into my life at the right time.
