i have read a lot of books in my life. hundreds. and i do not say it lightly when i say that this is one of the best, most moving, and impactful books i have ever read in my entire life. it is incredibly hard to read at times because of how emotionally invested in and connected i feel to these characters. because my heart aches and my stomach drops for them. because my heart swelled and my stomach fluttered for them. this is a book dripping with a vivid compassion for life, for love , and for connections with others, faith, and yourself. the three perspectives and individual stories all add such rich and deep layers to the story and elevate each other. i rooted for noor and salahudin. i felt pained for them. i cared about them. i cried for them. their individual stories are heart breaking and their relationship is a strong core for the narrative to lean on. while there is a lot of rage and heartbreak in this story, there is also a deep well of hope and joy present as well. this book is beautifully written with insightful prose the flows incredibly well and moves at a perfect pace. i just genuinely love this book. it connected with me and made me feel so many emotions. i am
not sure i have it in me to reread this any time soon, but if i were to read any book, i am grateful that it was this one.
