I loved this book, it was a sweet simple love story. Jake meets Hanna when their kids are planning their wedding. Everyone saw the spark between them and they finally acted on it at the engagement party. Due to Hanna’s complicated relationship with her son, she wants to keep it a secret. The secret becomes much harder to keep when Hanna ends up pregnant. Much of the story is Hanna and Jake’s story of navigating becoming parents again after 20+ years, dealing with the complicated family dynamics and figuring out which coast to live. This was an emotional story of adults over 40 which you don’t read about too often. Also, I think the shirts Queenie was having made were hilarious!

Thought this was just supposed to be a cute romance, but it developed into a pregnancy trope, which I just didn’t like. Usually I don’t have a problem with it but this was just kinda weird. Two people in their forties, with children in their late twenties/early thirties, having another child. Going into this I thought it was weird reading about people in their forties having a secret affair.
Maybe I’ll finish this one day, I’m just not in the mood for that right now.

We've reached the last book in Helena Hunting's All In series based around Seattle's NHL team. Here we have Hanna, mother/sister (yeah you need to read book 3 for that explanation) of Ryan who was the MMC in the previous book, and Jake, the father of Queenie, the FMC in book 3. This book in the series starts off with a bang with Jake and Hanna hooking up multiple times, while planning Ryan and Queenie's wedding. Yes, this is the dad of the bride and mother/sister of the groom.
While not the ideal book I seek out, I grew to love many of these characters in the series and just couldn't leave the series unfinished. Jake and Hanna are adults and cement themselves in this awkward family dynamic when Hanna finds out she's pregnant. Jake is a great guy and helps Hanna through all her struggles and worries in the pregnancy. There was a big piece of the storyline focused on the baby once he was born, which didn't seem that necessary to me. Even with Hannna's past, the reader would still understand everything without all the diaper changes, baths, and sleepless nights.
Jacob Morgan and Stella Bloom are the great narrators who bring the characters in this book to life. I liked how Hanna wasn't narrated by someone with a super young sounding voice since her character is 45+.
THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You enjoy your MC's older than your typical romance book, family drama, and a happily ever after.

While reading this series you get introduced to so many characters and you want all their stories. These two were high on my list and I couldn't be more excited they got their book and their happily ever after.
A Kiss for a Kiss is the story of Jake, Queenie's Dad and King's father-in-law, and Hanna, King's Momster. With that kind of messy start you can't help but get excited for what could possibly unfold for these two and these families that are entangled together. Throw in a surprise baby and this couple who thought they were done with kids goes on quite a ride.
It was refreshing to read this as they are an older couple so the drama isn't quite as dramatic. They are both set in their ways though and changing is always hard. While reading this I'll admit to putting myself in Hanna's shoes and while the situation is scary I think it was written so well. The things that could happen and her past were all addressed and not glossed over. I loved Jake and Hanna together and am just so happy to have read this book. Also getting all the time spent with characters past is like saying hello to old friends. Love this world Helena Hunting created and I do hope we get more from it!
