Because I am not chronically ill and my only disability is a learning one, I often forget to include disabled women in my intersectional feminism, which is something SICK really helped me examine and reflect on. I don’t know if issue 4 is on storygraph, as that’s the one I read, so I’m logging issue 3 instead - this review is of issue 4, though! I learnt a lot from the beautiful musings in this magazine, and it helped me see that some parts of my own experience can be classified as ‘sick’ - my chronic migraine, ADHD, mental illness - but that I don’t necessarily see them as such for a number of reasons. A really enlightening and perceptive publication, with beautiful art and poetry in there too!
