Gosh I just love Sawyer Bennett. She is a diverse writer in the genre, so I can't say I love all of her series... but her hockey series' got me to read sports romance, which I really never would have seen myself doing, since actually, I don't really do sports.

Cold Fury is one of my all time favorite series (up there with Christina Lauren's Beautiful & Wild). I actually live in NC so I am partial to the setting, but I also just really love all the characters and stories. As much as I love them, I was glad to see a new series start, with all new players. Can't wait to keep reading.

So on to my actual review:
I forgot to read this straight off the gate, which is usually better, because I rant less. I have given in to reading these classic tropes and appreciating them for what they are. So here, we have a fake relationship. I didn't buy it really, why she started the whole thing, I just felt like it wasn't quite tight enough. But honestly, other than that, I thought it was a cute story and look forward to meeting more Arizona Vengeance players!

This was a really fun read! I loved their journey from the fake engagement to real friendship and affection. And the amount of tension with secondary characters was perfect.

I just love the relationships in Sawyer Bennett's books. When Bishop and Brooke get caught in a compromising position in front of Brooke's father, she lies and says they're engaged. But during the course of their fake relationship, their feelings become real.
Great heat between the main characters (🌶️🌶️🌶️) but also a lot of heart, which is a Sawyer Bennett characteristic. She makes you wish most of her main male characters were real, and Bishop is no exception.

A quarter of the way through this audiobook, I paused my listening and looked up the rest of this series. I'm looking forward to reading the stories of several other characters mentioned in this book.

I enjoyed this author's writing style very much. The premise was great, the characterization was done well and the story flowed well throughout the book. There were no boring lulls and the sex scenes were seamlessly weaved in to the story. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was apparent from the very beginning. I definitely recommend this book to any fan of sports romance novels.
