Okay so this was a ride from start to the finish (pun intended). Let's forget about the fact that the female mc had no spine in the beginning of the book but got a lot better as the plot went on. The male mc is loveable but also a bit embarrassing at times. I did not personally lean into the whole
I'm a monster blah blah because of my tough upbringing as it felt very bad boy wattpad vibes to me. Also, the fact that bdsm was portrayed made it a bit refreshing with the clear consensual lines. This book also did not need to be 500 pages and at times I found the writing cheesy as hell. Regardless, it was entertaining for someone who was looking to get back into the regular reading scene. Half of the times, it was difficult to support heroine's dumbass choices because she kept contradicting herself. There was obviously some sexual tension, but I felt that there could be more angst, as one minute they are hating each other, the other they are meeting up and on the verge of fucking each other. Also the fact that female mc had a whole ass vendetta to destroy her husband's family, but chickened out because she's a doormat
The plot twist was very soapy and I did not expect it, as when I hit the 83% reading mark, I was ready for their made up drama to be over. I do the like fact that male mc's devotion and love towards the heroine and that made me swoon, not to mention his expensive asf love gestures.
The spice was really good surprisingly (🌶×5/5) and just at the right level. Please do check the trigger warnings though.

The sort of “twist” felt very predictable and that was a little annoying. Also would it kill a guy to tell the truth and not keep important things hidden, like that’s your wife man how are you want to be able to have a good relationship if you don’t communicate!! Additionally, I hate men who are overly possessive like it’s cute to an extent.
