yk what fuck you Sasha Strauss-Vanderpool for saying this was a mid book. It was pretty damn cool.

I think this is my favorite Trials of Apollo book
even though I didn’t like that Jason died
. You can tell Apollo’s views have changed A LOT in this book, and just the way it was written was great. Apollo was less annoying, and the topics in this book were more mature but still accessible. I really really loved this book like so so much this is a TRUE five star book, not just a ‘it’s five stars because it’s a Percy Jackson related book’ five stars. Also Grover was back and I love Grover

I'm liking Trials of Apollo more and more as I read each one (which is what happened with Heroes of Olympus too) and I especially loved all the secondary and tertiary characters in this one. Action-packed, swift pacing, full of emotional ups and downs, and I especially like seeing Lester/Apollo become more and more human. You can definitely tell in the writing and in his voice, which works really well for his character arc throughout the entire series. A fun read, continues to scratch the "I wish I could read Percy Jackson again for the first time" itch!
