I can’t help but be a bit disappointed by the 3rd book in the Maggie D’arcy series, probably because I’m still comparing it to the first book which was a 5 star read for me. The descriptions of the setting are lovely, but this felt just like a typical mystery with very little to make it stand out. The character development was also missing for me. Unlike in the earlier books, the storytelling didn’t make me care for anyone in the book besides Maggie so I had a hard time being invested in the “hunt” for the killer/s.
