SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

After Tate was kidnapped by Troy and taken to a facility to harvest her blood for a vaccine, the boys desperately search for her.

But even once they reunite, the battle is not over. There’s still the matters of the Justice Ninja, taking down Troy, destroying the Royaume D’élit, getting Kyan out of serving his mafia family, and more.

With so many obstacles in their way, Tate and her guys must fight tooth and nail if they want to get out alive and have any sort of future together.

REVIEW:

The conclusion of the series was good and action packed. I loved how devoted the entire harem is to one another by the end. I also loved the crossover hints to The Harlequin Crew series — makes me appreciate the epilogue in that series with their daughter and the Rivers’ boys, which I didn’t connect as being Tate’s sons at the time. I loved the personal character growth each of them went through throughout the entire series. And I loved where they all ended up.

It was a very, very, very long book though. And there is so much packed into it that it felt like almost too much. Seriously this book could’ve been like broken down into two or three other books considering all the story arcs that needed to wrap up.

I think I would’ve preferred the whole Justice Ninja/Stalker story arc to have been completely wrapped up in the last book since it felt kind of out of place with the rest of the story. I’m not at all surprised by who it was (called that from the beginning). But I’m a little disappointed that Saint of all people didn’t put that together considering how smart he is.

Lots of story arcs happen in this book. Like I said, almost too much is going on. There’s Tate being held hostage for the vaccine, Kyan being kidnapped by Bait and Deepthroat (who are the Justice Ninja/Stalker), hiding out in an abandoned movie theatre, being taken to (and escaping from) a Hades concentration camp, staying at Kyan’s grandpa’s house (who is head of the Irish mafia), blowing up the Royaume D’élite clubhouse and rescuing all of the captives there, taking the vaccines to a doctor who can humanely replicate them, the rescue mission for Blake’s dad, taking down the last of the Royaume D’élite Grand Masters, figuring out their futures, and tons of epilogues going about sixteen years into the future. I probably missed something. But…it’s a lot.

As exciting as all that sounds, it got to the point when I really just wanted them to finally have their HEA because it was just starting to drag, unfortunately. It was just too much for one book. Weirdly enough, the previous books in the series (which were just as long but slower paced) didn’t seem to drag as much. Not sure why.

Still, the action was fun at times, even if it was a little too packed in there. I love how throughout the series Tate has both rescued herself, been rescued by the guys, and rescued them. And likewise they have all taken turns rescuing each other. They’re a real team.

Speaking of a real team. I also adore the bromance in these books. RH’s tend to have varying levels of closeness between the guys. I prefer an RH that either has m/m or at least has a strong connection between the guys (even if it’s platonic). These guys don’t quite get into m/m, but they are super close and I loved that about them. There were even a few almost m/m scenes that were super hot. One with Saint spanking Blake as punishment. But my favorite was the scene with Tate, Nash, and Kyan where Kyan ties up and chokes Nash while Nash is having sex with Tate. So hot!

The whole RH is just so cute and sweet and sexy together. I love them so much. Their group text convos are crazy adorable! The way they tease each other and whatnot. It’s so sweet. I really felt a strong connection between them all. The slow burn was totally worth it.

Overall it was a good book and great series. I still think Peckham/Valenti books tend to run a little too long. Especially the exorbitantly long epilogues which are cute and all, but are unnecessarily long and go too far into the future for my preferences. I’d still recommend the series (and these authors’ books in general). They’re really well done. I will say, I liked Harlequin Crew better story-wise, but I liked the closeness and more willingness to share among the guys better in this series.

I am the dark in the dead of the night, hear me roar!

Queen of Quarantine, the final book in the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep was one heck of a ride. This series has been one of the best I've read to date, even if the first two books had me questioning if I really liked it. The fourth book was everything I wanted to see and so much more. The writing was phenomenal, the characters were perfect and a little psycho, but it is what I have come to love about the Night Keepers and their Night Bound.

"Fight with the spirit of the warrior I know lives in you. Fight for the good days. Fight to be stronger than anything the world hurls at you, fight for what you want."

QoQ will kept me on my toes with every new twist and turn, action that wouldn't stop, new and old enemies popping up in every direction. It was a heart racing book that had me laughing out loud, crying and screaming "WHAT?!"

This book was the definition of an epic conclusion that I loved. I am so sad that it is over, but I can't wait to read The Death Club and catch up with crazypants Niall!

"One of you is going to explain the f*cking squid emoji to me"

AMAZINGLY Wrapped Up Series

Nothing grinds my gears like reading an entire series and having that universe wrapped up in one quick “they live happily ever after.”

This was the exact opposite. This was probably the best ending to a series I’ve ever read. LOVE LOVE LOVED this storyline, the spice, the character development…..phenomenal. I’ll be rereading this one for sure.

Absolutely adored this book series . Towards the end I found myself trying to put of finishing it because I knew I would miss the characters so much . I can’t wait to reread it again in a few months . I definitely recommend. The boys definitely redeem themselves after book 1 .
