I wanted to like this story but it was hard to get into and full of cliche tropes. I’m not even sure the story concluded, it was very anticlimactic and just ended. Ugh.,super frustrating.

Maybe I’m just over thrillers but this trope of vulnerable women struggling with addiction and amnesia is not doing it for me. The twists and turns in this book were more like gentle curves.

so, i definitely was invested in seeing this book through to the end, and it was a fast read... but man, you had to suspend so much disbelief for this novel to make sense. it was a unique premise but was very hard for me to believe. plus, i was not a fan of the characters. 3 stars since i was pretty engaged in the story, but that's definitely rounding up.

So most of my rating was that I liked the writing. It was fast paced, easy to understand, and overall I feel like the writing has all the right things. It’s the plot, or well for me, the reveal. It was a choice. And imo not a good one

Where do I begin. I had really high expectations for this book; especially since this book was a Reese’s book club pick. To say it was a let down is a bit of an understatement. It had the most unreliable narrator, which I usually love, but it was way overdone and I found it to just be annoying. I found the dual timeline confusing at times and I wasn’t always sure when it was. I’m not 100% sold on the ending and I’m left feeling like I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. I did like how her mom had an arc and really redeemed herself from when Maya was a kid. I love a mom saving the day. To sum it up, not my favorite and I was very happy to be done with it.
