3.5 stars. Heartwarming story of Libby who moves out of her Texas suburb to a goat farm in rural Texas. She needs her kids to start a new life now that their father has died. And why not live with Aunt Jean and help with the farm? But Libby learns that there are secrets between aunt Jean and her mom, and that a brooding farmer has secrets too.

Katherine Center is fast becoming one of my favourite writers. Her stories are brilliant representations of strong, empowered women who pick themselves up, strive and move forward in the face of downfalls and setbacks. The Lost Husband portrays widowed Libby Moran, who winds up in a farm with her long lost aunt after losing her husband and her house. Struggling as a single mother, she learns about her past, and learns to forgive the person who has wronged her. Libby embraces life's unpredictability, and accepts that while not everything lasts, what we experience can be beautiful, and should be cherished.

Somehow I got tricked into reading a romance book. I’m glad I stuck this one out. It really did remind me of a Nora Ephron story. A bit cheesy and a bit predictable. Ultimately a feel good book that makes me smile.
Using for the 2019 popsugar reading challenge prompt “book that will be a movie in 2019”. Filming has already started in Round Rock Texas. If it doesn’t release in 2019, I’ll pick another one.
