(4.5 stars) The only reason i'm not giving this book 5 stars is the ending. I loved all the characters (all of them!) the book was funny, entertaining and kept me reading constantly, the only thing i could (and i will) cry about is the ending. I love both of them and look what happens!!! It's not acceptable!! If something amazing doesn't happen in the next book to do with dawson and beth i WILL cry!!!!!

Cool introduction to the series. I've heard a lot about it already, so it was nice to get this glimpse into the Lux side of things before starting the main story. I really liked the way the characters interacted with each other, you could sense their familiarity with each other and their connections seemed strong and relaxed.

Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was awesome. Even though this was a novella it was longer than some Ebooks, which was a fantastic treat.
Dawson is so sweet, it's like he got all the sweetness that Daemon is missing!
I have to say that I actually went straight off and re read Obsidian again. I read it with fresh eye's and even though it's explained in Obsidian why Daemon is the way he his Shadow's explains it all much better and in detail.
Onyx can not come soon enough!!!

The last thing Dawson Black ever expected to do was fall in love with a human girl. He never thought it was something he would need to be concerned about, until he meets Bethany Williams that is. Their connection to one another is instant and their love quickly blossoms. However, Dawson is an alien. His secret is as dangerous as their love.

I really wish I had known about this novella before I read [b:Obsidian|12578077|Obsidian (Lux, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328275091s/12578077.jpg|17588854]. This tells the story of Dawson and Bethany and really lets you see into the prejudices against Katy in the next story. For a novella, it was suprisingly long.

Dawson and Bethany were as absolutely lovable as Katy and Daemon are in [b:Obsidian|12578077|Obsidian (Lux, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328275091s/12578077.jpg|17588854]. Their relationship is just pure and loveable. They lack the tension since they both just throw themselves into their love for one another.

The ending is just heartbreaking. Such a melancholy conclusion to such a pure love. I am in love with this series and recommend it to everyone.

Oh man reading this I felt so bad for Dawson. Pretty much learning everything first with Bethany. The ending.... I felt bad for Daemon and Dee thinking the worst happened.

Heerlijk 'opwarmertje' voorafgaand aan de eigenlijke serie.

This is the most pointless book I've ever read. Nothing happened that wasn't mentioned in Obsidian.

I genuinely read the last 5% of this book while simultaneously hitting myself in the head with a beanbag. Over and over again.

This was nothing but a desperate attempt to stretch out the series.

o god that was heartbreaking. the emotions were so real and raw, especially towards the end. the insta-love was cute and mushy. the relationship between the siblings was close and relaxed, just everyday fun. which is why the end was even more heart wrenching. was a nice little short story accompanying the series. makes you understand the characters better.
