I feel that I should review this book after I have put its advice into practice, but I can say for now that it is enormously clarifying, and it delivers on its primary purpose: to help the reader feel that she can take control of her financial life.
Part of most people’s problem is, I think, just the fear of starting to look into their finances: they’d rather not know what mistakes they’ve made or how close to the edge they might be. This book helped me feel energetic about getting to the bottom of things, and diluted my own fear about doing so. That is in itself an impressive achievement for a book.

A good book, helpful. Most things I had read through blogs, but the fiduciary standard was new to me, as were maybe one or two other concepts (it's been a while).

This was a quick read that really simplified how to handle your personal finances. I’ve been meaning to read it for over a year and I’m very glad I did. Helaine and Harold break down personal finance to its essentials in a very approachable way. Would recommend to almost everyone.

Unfortunately it was too Americanised and when it wasn’t too American it was things I already knew
Nicely written book though
