So very sweet, old-fashioned, heartwarming, and satisfying. The best stories include a love of books and an adventure of discovering a new part of oneself. This book has all that and more in such a short span!

Would rate it 4.5 if I could.

First let me curtsy to Penguin Random House for their commitment to the short literary form. They have put together dozens of international titles under their Art of the Novella series, from which this volume (not pictured here) is drawn. I am quite tempted to order them all.

Parnassus on Wheels is a delight from its opening pages—a madcap fantasy about rural life, literary passion, and love that comes late—but not too late. It has regaled decades of faithful readers and deserves decades more. A charmer this one is!

Do you ever have those books that the more people recommend them, the more you shy away from hyphen? This is one of those books that I’ve hesitated to read for a long time. It was a combination of the title, the book cover and the recommendations. Yesterday, for some reason, I decided to read it. I’m so glad I finally did! It was really good. I would say I’m sorry for waiting for so long, but maybe this was the exact right time to read it.
