I do understand all the positive reviews, simply not my thing. This is a dramatic and poignant book with a lot of potential for lovers of the genre. The problem is that it is not mine and I found it slow, almost boring, because of that. However, I loved the writing and the way the psychology of the characters was analyzed.
I did not set out with high expectations, but I still wanted to read it before seeing the movie, which I hope will convey everything the book failed to give me.

Tom was absolutely the worst. He ruined both Marion's and Patrick's lives. Atleast he was nice to Patrick at some point but he was always a jerk to Marion (who was such an idiot by the way). Even though he claimed to love Patrick he never visited him at prison. I didn't like any of the characters except for Julia who seemed to be the only reasonable person, everybody else was selfish jerks. If i go back i wouldn't read it ,not even for my beloved Harry Styles. I was angry at everyone the whole time. Funny thing is, Harry is playing the character i hated the most. I hope the movie is better.
