I personally liked this book better than the first. The dynamic between the two main characters was great but the actual plot points happened all at the end and it felt like the ending scene came a bit out of no where. I did enjoy it, but be aware there are some graphic scenes that weren't for me at all. Be sure to read the content warning.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Gore, Physical abuse, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Sexual violence, Torture, Toxic relationship, Blood, Gaslighting, and Sexual harassment
Moderate: Infidelity
Minor: Death of parent

Good sequel / end to the duet. It didn’t have as much of the dark academia vibe as the first book which was a shame, but this one felt more fantasy driven which was still fun. I liked that Willow didn’t give in easily and that Gray persisted relentlessly. The ending was cute and overall it tied up lose ends from the first book and had a cool take on the magic system for witches. Downside is I didn’t feel emotionally connected to any of the side characters and they felt a little underdeveloped, but I am intrigued by the next instalment in the series.
Moderate: Sexual content, Violence, Blood, and Murder
Minor: Child abuse, Confinement, Death, Infidelity, and Pregnancy
