Pretty disappointing read. This has the potential to be a good story with compelling characters and plot twists. The world building is bare minimum, character development is minimal, half-ass attempts at compelling plot twists just don't make sense and fall flat. The "ending" felt like a huge waste of time.

Also read the arc of this book. The themes are dark and that takes this to a different place. Enjoyed that he loves her so much that he doesn't ever want to stop or trying to get her to love him back

This honestly should’ve just been tacked on to the first book. They dealt with mostly the same problems- trust issues, a half-cooked desire to be grumpy, etc- and I’m not convinced they solved most of them. Dark romance is not really my thing so I guess I don’t see the appeal of a man who is obsessed with you but will murder literally anyone else. Probably should go to therapy.

She really lost me after the scene with the knife where
Gray knows Iban manipulated Willow and lets him live but doesn’t keep an eye on him to the point that Iban can work with Michael to use Willow to send the devils back to Hell and the plot isn’t discovered until she has been stabbed. Like you just let this guy exist after he’s proven he’s not a good guy and you don’t even keep tabs on what he’s up to? Stupid.

A lot more smut than I had anticipated. Felt very rushed and had an ending open enough for another book. I don't love the idea of Grey waiting 50 years for his future wife to even be born. I would have ignored it if he wasn't constantly bringing it up. The way he's obsessed with her when he hasn't known her for more than a few months was,,,, interesting,,,,

I liked the book for the most part but it lagged a little. I wish the books was maybe 50 pages shorter because it sometimes felt that the author was told to write more to meet a quota. Is this going to have a third book? It seems so but the cliff hanger isn't exciting so it can end here but there is room to grow the world and story.

Grey and Willow's relationship is of course, dark and moody but if they both just communicated more about their feelings and plans a lot of their drama would be solved. But that's every single romantasy book through, right.

I don't know if I am planning on reading this book again soon but it was good while it lasted.

This book was amazing!!! I'm not sure if this will be the end to the completed duology because there is room in the story for additional books. The main story is wrapped up well and I do not feel a loss not having the other elements completely wrapped up. This book left me feeling tense in the beginning not sure what to feel of the MMC. I love how his character grew and I loved how the FMC worked through her challenges. This book is a little more explicit with the sex. I give it 3.5 peppers. Not crazy spicy but it's nice spice. I felt the heat! I will be reading this duology again and I will devour any additional books if they happen to be created for this series.

This is the completion of the duology, the sequel to The Coven. This book was not as interesting as the first for me. The development of relationships was very poor on all levels. The friendships especially seemed unearned for people who claim not to trust anyone. And don't get me started on Ash hugging Gray because they had a talk while Willow was getting dressed after the last time he saw them in The Coven Gray was stabbing her and the time before that he was threatening his life after chasing them. Like no, that's not necessary. The friendship that forms with Leviathan is equally unbelievable. While I think this series was planned out well, the execution as a whole was underdeveloped.
The personification of the demons also made them just seem normal dudes aside from being very strong and big. I did not like this installment as much as the first book, which had that explosive ending that was so interesting to read.
This book had second book in a trilogy energy, not final installment of a duology.
Thanks to NetGalley and Tor Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
