I've only read 2 of the entries in the anthology so far. Kathryn Moon's "The Basilisk of Star Manor" and C.M. Nascosta's "Shadows and Light."
Both are 5 star reads for me!
TBOSM: Marius is a dream!! And Lillian is a revelation!!
Lillian's character arc and growth in this book is glorious to watch. I love that she blossoms with confidence under Marius's attentions. And that his attentions are devoted, but still encourage her independence! Ugh, it's so beautiful.
Shadows and Light: C.M. is always a joy to read. I love the sticky sweet stories she writes, and I love these stories with bite even more! Morally neutral parties being sexy and kicking ass together? Sign me up!

The Basilisk of Star Manor
I loved this story so much!! Marius and Lillian are a perfect pair and it was oh so delicious of a short story. Kathryn has done it again. For fans of A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor, you need to read this before A Company of Fiends comes out. It's the perfect bridge story and a delight to read!

Jude describing the way dance made her feel resonated with me and made me love her all the more. Lux is perfect in all regards and so attentive to Jude. I loved seeing how this story fit into the broader Cambric Creek world; CM never fails to make me wish I lived in her universe.
