Great book for Pride. I guess mentioning Market street is the cue that it’s in San Francisco but my only quip is I wish that was more clearly stated in the text. Love the bright artwork. Good interplay between pictures and text but also having now read Twas the Night Before Pride I feel like this misses some of the context by not mentioning NYC or the Stonewall riot--maybe because this one is set in California but still it feels sanitized and like some of the background is lost.

A delightful little children’s book aimed to help children show their pride in who they are.

Ok well I didn't expect to LOVE this book but now I'm crying.
Even though I know better, I'm somehow always convinced that there aren't REALLY any queer couples who kids. Books like this give me hope for my own family one day

I love that this book is based on the author's own memories of going to San Francisco Pride Parade as a kid. Beautiful illustrations! There are some parts I thought the text was a little long, but it is still a quick read. The message and illustrations more than make up for me thinking it's a little long..

A fun story of a kid who goes from attending the "Rainbow Parade" to marching in it as part of an LGBTQ+ family. Fun pictures and realistic story.
