May 2020: just read for the third time, and enjoyed it the most yet. As a kid who felt saved by books, this still hits me. And this time around, the parts about choosing life got me especially.

4-3/4 stars. What a unique and wonderful story. The end felt a tiny bit off to me, but in general I really loved this book and its main character. It took me back to my own geeky youth and my search for a karass of my own. A book for me and my kind. :)

Brilliant, compelling. The teenage protagonist is a compulsive reader, which I loved reading about, (even if she's obsessed with SF over fantasy.) I subtracted one star for the rushed ending, which I felt came out of nowhere.

This was a great book. Very well written and quite a captivating read. I rarely read every word or sentence in books, skimming over much of the descriptive elements. But this was so expertly written that I read every word! I highly recommend this to any sci-fi and fantasy fan and I would even recommend that everyone read this regardless of their preferred genre, it is that good!

A very odd book.. Whilst I enjoyed hearing about her love of sci-fi, I didn't enjoy the flow of the book. There were quite a few wtf moments as well (Wim casually suggesting she kill her mother?)

Really 4 1/2. This book mesmerized me. If you are a SF reader, you would love it even more. I am not, and I still loved this book.

Reread 2019. I still love this book very much.
