I have been waiting for these two. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the story of Brody and Aria. I loved the snippets of Brody in the past books. He definitely lived up to what I had imagined.

This story is a quick but fun one. I definitely hadn't anticipated the slip up that ended up being the bases for this book. (I don't read blurbs, so I don't know if it's mentioned in the book description.) It definitely added a great layer and plot to their story.

I highly recommend this book. On a side note: This is part of a series. It SHOULD be read in order. It's a continuing series with each book based on different, connected characters.

see i really enjoyed this book but i felt like it went wayyy too slow but also wayyy too quick if that makes sense? like in a couple chapters she was alr full term but it took to the end of the book for them to actually put everything aside and get together? i wouldve liked to see more of them after baby was born but oh well! still a good book regardless.

This series absolutely snuck up on me šŸ’˜

I initially put off listening to The Runaways because of its intimidating duration but after getting the ball rollingā€”each story is 15 chapters long plus epiloguesā€”I loved every second of it !!!

So much so that I've already bought all 5 audiobooks (separately) as I finished them šŸ„°

The ending made me cry; it was such a beautiful ending šŸ„ŗ I hope we can see the Runaways again + all their babies grown up in the future.

I loved this one! It reads fast because it has such a great story, great characters and a fantastic pace. It kept me riveted all the time! The author made a fantastic job with the enemies to lovers / surprise pregnancy trope. In spite of hating each other, Brody and Aria had such strong chemistry that the sparks could be felt coming out of the Kindle!

I found Brody fascinating, a product of billionaires who only cared for the power and the money and so, he felt empty because he never had love. When he realized Aria was pregnant after their drunk one-night fling, he insisted on being present for the pregnancy and his child. He didnā€™t want to forsake his child like his parents did to him. Aria, due to her childhood homeless experience, needed control over her life in order to feel safe. This led to some very lively negotiations!

I found the ā€œhateā€ that Brody and Aria had for each other so funny. I just knew they were drawn to each other, but Brody was afraid of his attraction for Aria with all his other family issues and Aria was afraid of falling for Brody and lose control over her life. It was a crap shoot because it was inevitable and precious, once they were expecting a baby.

Devney Perry writes stories about the heart, about family, friends, and their feelings about each other. In spite of having warring characters, thereā€™s always this heartwarming sense of good humanity, a group of people who have your back, a sense of community. Reading her books are such a pleasant experience, full of passion and tenderness. While Brody had a dysfunctional family with very little love lost between them, Aria had the love of her twin sister, her nephew August and her junkyard sisters. Aria, Clara and August filled the hole in Brodyā€™s loveless heart. I loved the scene where Brody claimed Clara as his sister!

Aria had her turn with the red Caddy when she drove it from her home in Oregon to Arizona, Claraā€™s home. Now Clara is in charge of the last leg in the journey, drive the Caddy to California, take it to Karson, and close the circle. I canā€™t wait to read Karsonā€™s book! Heā€™s present in all the series, heā€™s important in all these womenā€™s lives because he brought them to the junkyard, helped give them shelter and protected them. He was their leader and made them feel they had a home and a family, in the midst of their homelessness.

I have inhaled each book in the Runaway series by author Devney Perry, so that FORSAKEN TRAIL was an immediate favorite is no surprise. I loved Aria Saint-James from the moment that she was introduced in QUARTER MILES. That she's even stronger, even sassier, and more than able to handle herself here in her own book is all that I needed. And that she can more than manage Mr. In Control Bossy Bosserton Brody Carmichael clinched it for me.

That hate thing that Brody and Aria had going on? Yeah, so much unexplored attraction, and when they open the door to each other, talk about a spark...inferno is more like it, and an unlikely coupling becomes the match that neither one expected, but that each needed so desperately. These two that have so much love to share are meant for each other.

I've never read the Boxcar Children series that Devney loved and loosely used as a starting point for this series, but I have to believe that she's done a bang-up job taking the idea and running with it. Each and every character, runaways, or 'strays,' as Brody's grandmother so eloquently put it, has taken a bad beginning and made a life so much richer. Londyn, Gemma, Katherine, and now, Aria, they've finally found their people and places, because of the community they were able to forge so long ago. And, coming up is Clara's and Karson's story in DOTTED LINES. This book is one of my top TBRs for 2021, and I can't wait. In the meantime, if you have not read this series, you simply must. And with DOTTED LINES releasing in March 2021, you have just enough time, although I doubt it will take you that long to jump in and fall in love. Happy reading, friends. ā¤ļø
