Okay I love this genre of woman punishing men for their abuse, in the realm of Sadie and The Female of the Species, but this one being more new adult/adult. I absolutely did not see the twist coming halfway through
with Scarlet and Carly being the same person, and I was truly flabbergasted, slack-jawed, distraught even.
I knew that dumbass
red diary
was going to screw things up, but I’m so happy with the ending. They’re adorable <3 The audiobook narration was chilling.

I'm a self-proclaimed pacifist, but honestly, good for her. When the 2 narrators stories come together in the middle, ma'am, I should have seen it coming but I did not, and my husband heard me gasp from the other room.

The way the rest of the book played out was unsurprising but put a nice bow on things and as thrillers go, I thought this was a good one.

Moody AF - dark academia, fall/Halloween timeframe, feminist protagonist. This is a great one to add to the end of your October reads, if you've still got time.

It’s an enjoyable book with a lot of engaging twists and turns. The writing style was a little simplistic for me, but the feminine rage that it conveyed made up for it. I think that any women that reads this book can relate to one part of it in some way or another. It’s frustrating and heartbreaking and you want to scream right along with the main characters.
The dissatisfying bit is that the entire book revolves around men suffering the consequences of their actions, but there’s no actual lesson learned in the grand scheme of the problem ie men don’t see women as people. The moral is essentially that men are going to keep being men and the only way to fix it is to kill them, which is disheartening and a little bit hopeless
