Not bad. I liked the action packed it was. I had fun reading it.

I enjoyed the first two books in the Marked series quite a bit. I still had some reservations with the whole romance (for an urban fantasy, there is an awful lot of discussion, brooding, and time spent on the relationships), but with Alec's promotion I had hopes it would sort itself out. Except, if anything, things just got worse.

Eve is a wishy-washy person, and I'm not sure how much of that is because of the situation she is in with the two brothers or she just can't make up her mind. I got really irritated with her by the halfway point because she just could not make up her mind about anything.

The plot itself is rather sticky and involves spoilers for the last two books, but suffice to say, it somehow wraps up, but not in an entirely satisfactorily way. As this is a series, loose ends are expected to be tied up down the line, but I was hoping for answers more than anything else. Background, maybe. Something other than vague descriptions of things.

I do still admit that I love how Day works in various mythologies into the overall workings of the universe. It doesn't seemed forced, which is a plus in her favor.

The ending of EVE OF CHAOS—or the last few pages—were unbearable, and I'd ignore them if it was possible. They just don't mesh with the rest of the series. Kind of light-hearted, a bit syrupy, and it brings up more questions that need answers.

There are more books coming out in the Marked series, though at the moment I do not know when. Hopefully answers are given in the fourth book!
