Unsure about the meaning of this book written in 1940 by Cesare Pavese.
Enjoyed Elizabeth Strout's introduction.
But, the story was sad exploitation by young adults of a teenager, clearly not 'The Beautiful Summer'. Wouldn't have read this if I knew what they story was about.
