I had really high hopes for this book in the first half and genuinely liked where it was going but at the end it was all just a hodgepodge clumsy attempt at a plot that was absolute hell to read. Too much infromation was introduced such that nothing actually held and had enough significance in the story to make an impact. It would have been better as a trilogy.

This one starts off a bit rough because Bastien is whiny and mourning is old life. And Celine doesn’t remember anything. So it starts off slow but it gets much better.

I didn’t love this one as much as the first but now I’m invested so I’m moving on to the next one.
