Really liked the first half of the book.
Second half was more and more a let down.

SpoilerIs it just me or is the story almost like 50 shades? I mean he is a rich man with a controlling attitude. She is an almost 'innocent' girl at the start of her career. He tries to fix what is wrong, she gets mad but they make up. the jealous ex and at the end the stalker.

I know what will happen in the next book. I will try it but if I'm right it will be disappointing.
Where is the originality in erotic romances? It's missing in this one.

Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. I wanted to love this book based on the synopsis alone but I felt the book fell short from the hype. Chase seemed to be good for Gillian but too many things were at odds. Several lines in the book seemed to be the opposite of what was actually written. Gigi claimed not to know Chase but then said she looked him up.... Wierd. Then Chase gets so clingy with the MINE crap. Gigi gives him a blowjob in which his pubic hair crinkles around her nose hairs....ugh gross. The book shifts from crude to sweet so fast I get whiplash. Everything I believe to be true just goes haywire. Is it possible to just have a relationship without people being so fucked up? Overall entertainment is three stars.

Carlan can write hot sexy scenes and make you addicted to her writing but, Chase "Ass Hat" Davis is not a favorite of mine... Gillian (Is it pronounced Jillian or like Gill-Ian) goes back to another over-controlling guy. I don't know if I'm going to read the rest of the series.

The story idea was good but it was just too dramatic for me. Things are really OTT.
It ends without all issues being resolved though the couple are happy.

Gillian and Chase are both immature and OTT clichés!!

How they can function is beyond me. They are possessive, obsessive, insecure, keep secrets from one another.

Chase peruses Gillian . She goes on a date wit him. Another woman comes on to him. What does Gigi do? Get up and leave, alone, on foot, and of course she gets mugged.

What does Chase do? Get mad at Gillian for getting mugged!!!

The absurd situations never end.

Someone is stalking Gigi. Chase promises to take care of her. Which basically means he spends his days and nights proclaiming she is his....

When will authors understand they need to build character? Having a man say "you are mine" doesn't mean shit. It just says the author is not clever enough to show the characters progression from affection to love.

Of course there is a bitch of an ex. Because how else can you manufacture drama for 2 such weak characters.

I tried not to like it, but it was good.
Chase infuriated me a little but it was a little surprising to read a female character well developed with a psyche consistent to what she suffered. Her backstory just sucks, and it was nice to see her transforming it towards a healthy mindframe.
