very funny and absolutely ahead of its time i really quite enjoyed this by the end

this would not have taken as long for me to finish if i did not get engrossed in playing pokemon for half a month oops. also definitely picked up by the third chapter the first two kind of stalled me a bit

I started out not really enjoying Orlando, both the book and the character, and it took me some 70-80 pages to feel engaged with the novel. But I'm glad I stuck with it as by the end I was engrossed with the novel's exploration of gender, identity, art, and society. A perfect example of
"trust the process" and keep reading.

Could've done without the random racism though.

Some bits flowed better than others for me. I found the first half of the book passed easily and I enjoyed the passing of different eras and situations. I struggled in the last third of the book. I wasn't able latch on to the story as much. My favourite parts were around The Old Oak poem. I loved when Orlando returned to the poem to further it a bit more.

Enjoyed it for the most part. Hadn't known there would be racism so didn't enjoy that. Everything else was really good.

That was so fucking boring. I put the audio on 4x speed and it still wasn't over fast enough. And it was so racist. If that's the greatest sapphic love letter the English language has to offer we've failed as a people.
