"No Offence, But...": How to have difficult conversations for meaningful change by Gina Martin
_inge's review
Pretty good, but I wasn’t looking for an explanation of why certain phrases (and the issues behind them) are bad, I was more hoping for quick one-liners to shoot back. The solutions presented were more about engaging in a debate, when in my experience that’s not what people want. It’s a good book I’ll happily pass on.

You can tell that the author is a gender equality activist; she’s so passionate about these topics. Her chapters are so well written, you can tell she works hard to engage meaningfully with inclusive activism.
Same with the contributors - each chapter masterfully unpacks why popular statements/notions that appear benevolent or even helpful are often extremely harmful and/or offensive.
I really recommend that everyone reads this book - it’s downright depressing sometimes but too important to pass up. (the chapters on the police & the UK cost of living crisis are truly harrowing)

Very informative. Loved the fact that it is a book of mini essays on different topics.
