Loveable characters: No

I didn’t have the highest hopes going into this, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. The book was full of typos, plot holes, and at times the author even misspelled characters’ names 2 paragraphs apart. The amount of repetition was insane, the language used exceptionally questionable, and the descriptions and treatment of female characters absolutely disgusting. In one paragraph, the author argues that Asur women are treated well, and in the next paragraph he writes how that same women is beaten or brutally assaulted. Honestly, I can’t even comprehend the thought process that went into writing this book, and how an editor read it and decided it should be published. This book could have been so much better if the author focused on the character of Ravan as we know from mythology (intelligent, cunning, etc), but instead he is written as a man who has little interest in ruling, and only chases the title of King. Some of the plot points seemed to be pulled out of thin air, with no link to the Ramayan, and made no sense. The lack of planning before writing this book is astounding, and can be noted on every other page. This is by far the most disgusting book I’ve ever read, and would not recommend it to anyone.
