this was the first book i’ve ever read written by leo tolstoy and, his writing style definitely captivated me the most. although they are quite simple stories about greed and the desire for more, wanting what you don’t have, they convey the message in a clear manner. simple, yet effective.

I have never read anything by Leo Tolstoy
before. His writing style was fantastic.

I can now see why he is regarded as a  master of realistic fiction.

The story got me hooked from the very beginning. It was a captivating read.

I am glad that this was the 1st book that introduced me to his writings. I will definitely read more of his works from now on.
