The plot line and the details in the book are a bit all over the place. But it’s interesting to see what happens when you suddenly become the rich and the famous, and why glamour may not already seems so glamorous behind cameras.

Tried so many times to get through this book, but it’s soooo boring that I’ve stopped not even halfway. Brooke isn’t an interesting character at all and you don’t really get to know any of the other characters.

1,5 stars.

Generic girly book. Good for a bit of escapism.

This book was just a delightful little way to escape into a story. Lauren Weisberger has created a story we're all vaguely familiar with, filled it with lovable characters and maybe even a little cause for retrospection.

This book focuses on Brooke and her now-famous husband Julian. The couple met at one of his New York City gigs before anyone knew his name. After years of struggling, Julian's new album is noticed by the execs at Sony and his career explodes. Now Brooke, a successful career woman, is forced into a new celebrity lifestyle. Some of it is actually enjoyable, but that dissolves quickly when her husband's schedule forces them to be apart for weeks on end and the tabloids interfere with every aspect of their lives.

There really isn't anything bad to say about this book. It probably won't change your life. It might make you think twice before picking up a trashy tabloid magazine. It might make you wonder how you would cope in the same situation (although I would argue that you couldn't possibly know what you'd do). It's just a quick read, full of all the right ingredients to make for a great chic lit novel.

Pretty good book. It sounded like such a simple plot but I really liked the way she told the story. I would say a bit predictable but it was interesting. I also really liked the main character Brooke. It's not my favorite book by her but entertaining and a fun read.
