(4,5/5) I liked the first story by Maureen Johnson. It was cosy & the characters were lovable and there was growth throughout.

(2,5/5) I didn't enjoy John Green's story as much. The main/narrating character and his male friend were really sexist and it contains a joke about Lindsey Lohan and an r-slur that were both completely unnecessary (and not corrected by other chars in the story). The girl-character was a not-like-other-girls classic, while descriptions of the cheerleader characters were extremely misogynistic.

(1/5) I'm not sure I'll finish the last story by Lauren Myracle. 8 pages in, the narrating character sounds very self-involved and the "love interest", who is Native American, is exoticised and essentialised by Native stereotypes. Again there is an ableist slur in the story.

Over all, 2,5 stars.

I was excited to read this because of the Netflix adaption of this book, but I honestly liked the Netflix movie much better than the book (which is rare).

I thought the first story (The Jubilee Express) was just ok; I didn't feel there was enough buildup of the romance and I thought the protagonist was a bit annoying at times.

The second story (A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle) was the only one I liked; I thought John Green's portrayal of teenagers was the most realistic and funniest of the three. I was interested in the best-friends-fall-in-love romance and the characters, and loved the element of fun and adventure in this story.

The final story (The Patron Saint of Pigs) was just terrible, and I honestly skimmed through it. The protagonist was insufferable and I thought the wrap-up to bring together all the characters at the end could've been done in a much better way. I really didn't care for this story.

A really quick Christmas read, but would not read again and it was kind of a waste of time overall, to be honest.
