This book started out very promising - I’ve wanted to read a book that kind of reminded me of Hallmark/Lifetime movies, and honestly in the beginning I was enjoying it for the genre. It was standard and I liked the main well enough, and I enjoyed the fact that there was the grief aspect with her miscarriage.

It all went pretty downhill afterwards though. The love interest was flat and sounded more like a horny teenage boy than he did a 37 year old man who was grappling with the
Spoiler death of his wife
. It’s great to appreciate your partner’s looks, but the amount of times this man started off sentences by talking about how hot and sexy the main was got annoying very fast. Their chemistry isn’t very good to begin with and he just wasn’t very fun to read. The schizophrenia and miscarriage plots felt shallow and barely added anything to the characters - honestly, I feel like this book could have been cut down more. I wasn’t expecting a full cohesive plot but it felt like the plots in this book were brought up and had potential and then were solved in five pages. The build up was barely there and even the main conflict is resolved quickly when it is finally fully addressed. It was a lot of filler for the book and I felt like there were a lot of words, but nothing of value was being said.
