This was honestly such a painful read, but I couldn’t look away. Most (and I mean MOST) of the book is ROUGH with slivers of hope that are crushed by such dark and destructive thoughts, but it made me appreciate my body and want to take care of it. This could absolutely trigger darkness in people who are in the throes of an eating disorder, or those who are very new to recovery, or someone who generally has significant body image issues, but I thought it was very engaging and thoughtful and I was really sucked into her psyche. I came out of this book with more understanding and even more compassion (on top of the pain I already felt) for people who struggle with eating disorders (or extreme self-hate). Be gentle with yourself, friends!!!
