I didn't really get the story, but the art was cute and the protagonist was really interesting.

An interesting manga about youkai (from Kappa to dead warrior ghosts to big youkai that one needs to be wary of), gods/goddesses, a nice dash of mystery, but it is the characters that just didn't work for me. The weird infatuation of Kotoko with Kurõ was just creepy, she felt way closer to 10 than 17, Kurõ was OK until we learn what is going on with him and then I just eh that is just not my thing, the way that Saki just left Kurõ, I mean, I would have definitely taking distance but to just full blown cut him off and run away, a bit much. But out of the three, I would say Saki is the best to follow.

Oh, this is such a fun story!

We’ve got 17-year-old Kotoko, who acts as a kind of medium between spirits and yokai and the human world. She gained this ability when she was a child, in exchange for one eye and her leg. She walks with a cane which she can wield like a bay when necessary. (So we’ve got a disabled protagonist who is a bad*ass. Heck yeah!) When Kotoko is not mediating between worlds, she is fawning over the handsome Kuro, who kindly visits his cousin in the same hospital Kotoko visits weekly for her check-ups. The only thing in their way — Kuro’s beautiful, bright, and ambitious girlfriend, Saki.

But, just when Kotoko is beginning to think all hope is lost, Kuro and Saki break up. It comes put of nowhere and all of the regular nurses can’t help but speculate what happened. When Kotoko finds her nerve and finally confronts Kuro about the break up, she learns that there may just be more to Kuro than meets the eye. There may be something deeper, darker about this handsome young man. Something that scares not only beautiful, loving girlfriends but even yokai and ghosts away from him.

If you like ghost stories and mysteries with an added air of forbidden/unrequited(?) romance, then this may be the story for you~

I'm not entirely sure what I think about this, actually! I'm just intrigued enough to give the second volume a shot, but I'm not sure how things are going to come together. I enjoy that the protagonist is disabled though, and not limited by her prosthetic.
