Maybe I’m silly, but I didn’t see the plot twist coming at all, and I didn’t expect this to get quite so creepy (pleasant surprise). This art style is so scrumptious; I adore the thick, clean lines. Emily was getting up to so many creepy kid antics, I loved it (like Rhoda from The Bad Seed vibes). The character growth with Anya was sweet. Hope her mom’s okay lol.

I really liked this book. It has a great plot, great characters, and great art. It can get a bit heavy handed with the high-school-girl-behavior at times, but most of this is in direct service of the plot, so I don't find it too cliche. I think it could have been even stronger if there was a bit more development before the climactic scene, and there are more loose threads at the end than I would like, but it's still a good read.

AHH! If I could give this more than 5 stars, I totally would. I related to this on such a deep level. Especially Anya trying to fight against her culture in order to ‘fit in’. I so often did that at school because I was so different in primary and middle school than all of my ‘Australian’ friends. I was constantly bullied and mocked and I really felt for Dima.

BUT OH MY GOD. EMILY. WOW. I uh- I don’t want to say anything about the relationship Anya has with the ghost but holy fuck, it’s great.

I loved this story a lot.
