I have been meaning to read Anya's Ghost for the longest time and I am glad I finally picked it up! The story was fun, spooky and had a twist in it too! I enjoyed the story and the characters despite our main character of Anya being somewhat problematic. I think the story could have been improved with some more depth and detail into the plot line as I feel it was very rushed at the end and we could have more involvement with the ghost. I felt Anya could have been a nicer character as well but I suppose, she was being portrayed as a moody, rebellious teenager. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and it was perfect to read at this time of year.

Anya's life and feelings are so relatable and so easy to be drawn into here, from the very beginning. Even knowing in bits (just from the blurb/summary) what might be coming, there were some surprising twists. . . And definitely some surprises taking off from there!

The gorgeous art style and grey/blue-scale suited the story so very well, and small shifts were used beautifully to signify or alert the reader to things.

While Anya may not always have made the smartest choices - who does? - she never lost that relatable feeling, or indeed stopped being a lovable character.

I might have liked a little more of a wrap-up/follow on from where we were left the end, but it did resolve things satisfactorily, it didn't feel like I was left hanging. I was just curious how things might change/continue from there for Anya.

I really enjoyed reading this quick graphic novel! I was actually expecting it to read a lot younger than it did, but I'm glad it read a bit older. Anya is a very loveable character despite her flaws, and we definitely do see her develop throughout the graphic novel, even though it's a very quick read! The mystery and spookiness/creepiness was brilliant and I actually didn't guess what was going to happen. Would be perfect to read around Halloween! Would recommend to anyone over the age of 13/14.
