I loved this book by the end; I was invested in the relationship between Red and Blue and all of the writing, especially the letters, were beautiful. I was also a big fan of the ending.

However, it took me FOREVER to get into this book and I spent almost the first half thinking I was too stupid for it. I didn’t really understand what was going on and I think the early world-building was far too limited.

I think I’d enjoy it more with a re-read now I’ve gained some more context.

cried several times while reading this book, not because it’s particularly sad, but because the prose is so beautiful it moved me to tears. i think the only thing that i’ve read that’s more romantic than this book is pablo neruda’s poetry.

Read this book. Do yourself the favor of reading this book.

The prose is delicious. It drips with life and emotion. And the story is incredible on top of that.

This one takes some concentration to read since the authors barely build the world. Instead, you build the world in your head as the story progresses.

I think I understood what happened, but I might have to do a reread to truly 'get' the story. Which I would do if there weren't other books on my backlog :/

I was very intrigued by the world created and the mysterious aspects of the story!
