ehhhh i found the writing pretty weird. it read like someone writing in their diary which is fine if that’s the layout and plan but it really didn’t feel that way. the poetry thing really made so since and it wasn’t even like it was good poetry or useful to the story in any way?? i honestly like miles and rachel better than miles and tate but i can’t say that i even like miles. the actual story was pretty good but i guessed what was gonna happen sooo early on that i didn’t feel any emotional gut punch or cry it just happened and then it was over.
i don’t like the idea that you put up with getting treated like nothing just because a guy is hot and gives you good orgasms.
the story did pull me in and i enjoyed some of it but most of it i was either rolling my eyes or prettttty bored.

There was not a single moment in Miles and Tate's relationship that was not absolutely smothered in red flags why is this so highly rated.
Also the sex scenes are just poorly written and repetitive, which is a pretty bad thing when the relationship in question is based purely on sex and it being super good.
TBH I could write an in-depth review of this but I don't really want to think about it anymore so I'm not going to.

AH. THIS WAS SO WORTH IT.
I’m so glad this was my first Colleen Hoover book it felt like the perfect introduction.
I’m in love with Miles 😭 I don’t like sad books but this was perfect just the right amount of angst.
So glad I read this and will be trying out Colleen’s books again!

Colleen Hoover really has a way of captivating the reader's attention. I've been having a little bit of a hard time keeping my focus and not feeling bored while reading but this kept me interested all the way through. There aren't a lot of characters or settings but that's not a bad thing in this case because it allows us to get deeper into the main storyline. I kind of wish we got to know the main female character a little bit better besides her relationships.

Shout of to my Coho sister, Tirzah, for letting me borrow this book and making reading so much fun. I loved it. It's so precious.
I'm going to clarify something though at makes this only 4 stars. Miles and Tate definitely had a toxic relationship and he manipulated her so many times. She couldn't say no to him at anytime and tells us this multiple times... How is that healthy? Obviously it's not and if this was like It Ends with Us, it would be an even more heartbreaking ending.
Yet no matter how many red flags were thrown, I couldn't and wouldn't stop for rooting for Tate and Miles. These characters were very complex and I really loved the writing pattern. It looked like this: Tate's at present day then Miles 6 years ago. I liked how it worked because then we didn't just get Miles feelings but rather the causes behind his effects. Tate was also a very interesting character because she could recognize who she thought she should be but just couldn't and I love characters who are able to do that.
In the grand scheme of Coho books, I would say this book is in the top 5 so far after Verity with spot numero uno.
