Would’ve been 4 stars if not for the weird feel of the pacing. The first 20% felt rather fast, and then the middle section was a bit of a slog to get through.
Current theories for the rest of the series include Sloth being Luca’s book, Envy being Christian’s and Gluttony being Sloane’s. I’m not sure about Lust yet.
Representation:
- Chinese protagonist & side characters
- Filipina-Chinese side character
Graphic: Emotional abuse and Sexual content
Moderate: Death, Death of parent, and Gun violence
There are a few consensual, variably explicit sex scenes in the second half of the book. Dante’s grandfather died just prior to the story’s start, I believe via cancer. It’s mentioned multiple times, but never in detail. Other content warnings from the author’s website include blackmail, parental neglect, family disownment, and robbery at gunpoint. The last is only one scene about half through; no one is shot.hellowildflower's review against another edition

Not all content warnings are about the main characters some are and some are about the other characters you meet/hear in the book 🥰🥰🥰Enjoy🙃mamacita88's review against another edition

It's not new to say that I like Ana Huang's writing and books.
Vivian is very smart, strong, compassionate and gives you the bad b*tch vibes. She loves her family, but unfortunately they have very high expectations from her. She tries to have a relationship with Dante and has for a few moments until the decline begins. The moment she found out the reason why Dante continued to go with the marriage hit her very hard, but if Dante had communicated with her, I think this aspect would have been resolved faster without her having to suffer.
Dante is close to perfection. He speaks Italian, plans dates, and after he hurts Vivian he tries his best to win her back, but Vivian knows her true worth and makes him apologize on his knees. The groveling in this book surpasses the others written by this author.
If Vivian had parents who wanted perfection, Dante's parents were not present at all, not even at their wedding.
We see Christian and Stella a bit in this book but it doesn't spoil anything for anyone who has read Twisted Lies before.
I can't wait to read Kai and Isabella's book. I suspect that it will be very interesting and spicy.
