I wanted to read this book because I enjoyed the Twisted series, and I loved the introduction of Dante in Twisted Lies and wanted to read about him and Vivian. Ā

This book has two points of view. The first is Dante Russo, he is ruthless, meticulous and arrogant. He thrives on control in his personal and professional life. The CEO never planned to get married until the threat of blackmail forces him into an engagement with a woman he barely knows. His new wife is Vivian Lau, the jewellery heiress and the daughter of his newest enemy. It doesnā€™t matter that she is beautiful and charming. He'll do everything in his power to destroy the evidence and to end the betrothal as quickly as possible. There is just one problem: now that he has her, he canā€™t bring himself to let her go. The second point of view is Vivian Lau, she is elegant, ambitious and well-mannered. She is the perfect daughter and her familyā€™s ticket into the highest echelons of high society. Marrying a blue-blooded Russo means opening the doors that would otherwise remain closed to her new-money family. While the rude and elusive Dante isnā€™t her ideal partner, she agrees to their arranged marriage out of duty but carving his touch was never part of the plan. Neither was the worst thing she could possibly do: fall in love with her husband. Ā

I loved Vivian in this book and the arc that she had standing up for herself against her family and what she wanted career wise. I love the fact that both were trying so hard to deny that they fancy each other. Vivian was like Iā€™m living with him, heā€™s now tolerable to being like I want to see him so I'm going to use the excuse that heā€™s been working too hard and bring him dinner. Then youā€™ve got Dante being like I donā€™t mind her staying here to I'm going to take her to Paris and help her achieve her dreams. What I love during the twisted series and the start of this series is that the boys that Ana wrote are vanilla sometimes and all soppy and then the girls want to be so kinky, and I love it. I love the dual POVs within this book and it gives so much more to a romance series. I love the girls together - I cannot wait for Sloane and Isabellaā€™s book, I can already see the tension between Kai and Isabella. I love that this time itā€™s the girl's friendship group and the lad's friendship group. Even if all the guys ā€œhateā€ each other. Ā

The only reason that itā€™s not five stars is the same thing with all these books is the third-act breakup because there was no reason for it, and it drove me nuts. Also, the little tweaks of miscommunication just made me want to throw the book at a wall. Ā

Overall, this series has so much potential if she breaks the pattern of a useless third-act breakup and I hope that Danteā€™s brothers get his own story because he made me laugh so much in this book and I really hope he gets rid of Leaf. Ā

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Vivian Lau is trying to make her family happy when she agrees to an arranged marriage with billionaire Dante Russo, but heā€™s not happy with the arrangement at allā€¦until they get to know each other a bit more.

I loved the Twisted series and was so excited to start Kings of Sin, and Iā€™m glad to report the first book did not let me down! I truly feel like Ana Huangā€™s writing has only improved with each book of hers Iā€™ve read since Twisted Love, and the way she handles tropes and characters is so fun and engaging.

I started out a bit slow because I was new to the world (even though these are a companion to Twisted it still felt different) but once I got pulled in I was HOOKED and I breezed through the rest of the book in a few hours. Also, the groveling at the end? *chefā€™s kiss*

I canā€™t wait to start King of Pride soon!

Recommended to anyone, but especially if you like: engagement of convenience; forced proximity; enemies(ish) to lovers

CW: Violence, including gun violence; emotional abuse
