This was my least favorite of the series so far, but I think that's because of the new love interest with which Harris is providing Roe. No! He's not the right guy for you! I digress...

This is another fun mystery in Roe's life. We are getting closer and closer to her and she is becoming a stronger more independent woman with every installment. I love that about Harris' world building. She writes real women, in real life, where unreal things happen, but she uses the situation to show us someone coming into their own. Harris women don't need men, but they enjoy them. It's a lovely thing to show her audience. This despite their very Southern-ness. Harris is my hero.

This was just as good as the first Roe Teagarden book. I didn't expect the perp to be who dun it - I am usually pretty good at figuring them out long before the end of the book, so this says a lot. Well worth the read.
