I read this book as part of The Edge of Madness Set so I unfortunately did not read the 1st book in the series. Had I read that one I'm pretty sure my review would have been a 5, so I highly recommend reading the first one in the series before this one.

Nick Hunter is trying to hunt down and eliminate every person that was involved in crimes against his family after his son was kidnapped and subsequently rescued. Nick begins tracking down people in hopes of finding out who the mastermind was behind everything and why.

The problem for Nick is that he is supposed to be detained by the police in England, but Detective Newton believes that Nick is innocent of what he is being questioned for and is helping him find out the truth. There are still people after Nick and his family and he is running out of time to prove them all innocent and keep them safe.

There was so much mystery in this book and some pretty difficult subjects dealt with. This book is definitely for mature readers only. I think one of the sad parts was to know that some of these things still happen in our culture. The author definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how everything is going to turn out as you really have doubts on whether everyone is going to be ok.

The sequel to Blood is Heavier is one amazing concoction. It has by far the most vicious villain I have ever encountered. Somebody needs to read this book and turn it into a movie. The action is nonstop. I was in Nick Hunter’s corner every step of the way. The cop in the story absolutely got what he deserved (big grin here as you are going to need to read this to find out what I’m referring to). I cannot say much more without giving away too much. Great story.
