Justice for Fanny Price!! So many people hate on her, but I loved how she observed everyone else with such high moral superiority. Sometimes her timidness was annoying because she allowed herself to be treated like a doormat, but it was a nice change to have a timid and observant heroine from Austen.

One of my favourite Austen novels. I couldn't help but see a bit of myself in Fanny and a lot of my society in the Crawfords. The only drawback was that it slowed down at about pg 370, making it more taxing to read.
This book is an ode to self-awareness. While other Austen protagonists are notorious for their character development, Fanny is a reminder of the power of staying true to yourself in a world that is constantly asking you to change

Really just couldn’t engage in the characters. They all were unlikeable (particularly Mrs. Norris) and the first 100 or so pages dragged on so slowly that I couldn’t find it in myself to keep going
